Diary:

NCS @ The Nineteenth House, Bath, Friday 10 September and every last Friday of the month thereafter.

Style:

From funky, electronic and club house to club classics and rare groove.

Background:

Simon has been involved in the credible dance music scene since the late 1980s and has been DJing in various guises for nearly 20 years!

Growing up in North Kent, with early influences in rare groove, jazz funk and hip hop - Simon discovered the early house and ambient sounds with Pete Tong, Paul Oakenfold and Danny Rampling as the Ibiza revolution took hold.

Simon sites his influences from London Records, Junior Boys Own and FFFR and others in the early 1990s – regularly still dropping tracks such as ‘Leftfield – Not Forgotten’; X Press 2 – Say What’ and ‘Soul II Soul – Back To Life’.

Throughout his DJ career, Simon has kept true to the sounds that shaped his life and if you get a chance to see him live you will always catch a club classic or a new edit of a classic dance track, alongside both current and future dance tracks.

Simon is one of the busiest DJs within the New City Sound collective with booking requests every weekend, though preferring to play regular nights in small intimate venues rather than larger clubs.

Simon’s mix of genres has led to appearances at nights with Hed Kandi, the Opening night at the 02 Academy right through to a funk and soul guest mix on Star FM with Soul Train.

After playing at the prestige Central Fashion Show in Bristol, Simon held a residency at Severnshed for 3 years and invited Matt and the New City Sound team to join him on a monthly basis in late 2008.  After immediate success of the nights at Sevenshed, Simon was asked to join the NCS team and willingly accepted.

You can catch Simon most weeks at Goldbrick House in Bristol, where he is the in house resident for both private and public functios.

Simon is regularly selected to DJ at some of the region's prestigious events and parties including ‘33’, O2 Academy, BBC Casualty and The Bristol Fashion Show.
