Sometimes when you have mixed your tracks they can sound pretty decent but there is nothing quite like some high quality signal paths adding a sheen to the end results. For many it might not be a major consideration as the mix might be satisfactory but I find that the finalization is quite important for gelling the mix and finding common ground between tracks so they flow well on the album release. Many studios seem to offer mastering these days but I think it is best to seek out one that specializes in the process so you can be assured that the engineer is well versed in the online mastering procedure. Its got a few different things going on, but there is some real music going on with the piano and a powerful vocal.
