NEW CITY SOUND RECORDINGS: introducing an exciting new record label for cutting edge House music producers.
Who we are:
New City Sound (NCS) is an established and respected coalition of House music promoters, producers and djs in the South West region. Key to our success is the quality of music we explore and play. NCS is now offering a platform to talented producers through its newly launched record label, New City Sound Recording (NCSR).
What we are looking for:
New and established producers and re-mixers of cutting edge, underground House music. We’ll be focusing on quality rather than quantity releases and so we are only looking for the best tracks, crafted with technical know how, flair and imagination. From big room piano and key lead House, as well as vocal, soul, funk and disco and also slightly tech edged, deeper and ambient sounds. We are not looking for repetitive riffs, disjointed vocals or aggressive, ‘cheesey’ or urban tracks. Think melodic, up lifting, moving and meaningful music. There is a great selection of music across our website – www.newcitysound.co.uk - which gives an idea as to our influences. Check out the monthly radio show, podcast mixes, forum recommendations and mixes, as well as the residents’ individual pages for new release recommendations, to get taste.
We also look for artists who make an effort to promote themselves - vibrant and busy Facebook and My Space pages are essential, as well as being active on as many other industry sites as possible.
What we offer:
Signed tracks will benefit from massive and consistent internet exposure across our website and to our database. You will be offered the opportunity to do guest mixes, interviews and feature on our radio show. NCS has seven residents - five based in the UK, one in Spain and one in Australia, all of whom have their own individual databases, as well as being regular users of countless other relevant music and social websites globally. We work as a team to promote ourselves and NCS through every avenue possible. That includes the residents featuring signed tracks in their live sets in the various bars, clubs and radio stations around the world when the play out.
NCS itself has had gigs this year featuring the likes of the Shapeshifters, Toolroom Records, KKlass, Danny Rampling, Junior Jack and Kid Crème. Our previous guests have included Grant Nelson, Soul Central and none other than Joey Negro (March 2008 & August 2010). That gives an idea as to the calibre of music we are talking about. Our label has been accepted on leading download sites - Beatport, Juno, Traxsource and the like. It really doesn’t matter whether you are a brand new producer looking for that break, or an established artist looking to maintain visibility and work with new (or better) people. It goes without saying that signed artists will be first choice for future NCS gigs, giving a live stage to your talents as well.
